South Dakota Trip

After our reunion in Iowa, we headed to South Dakota with our friends, Al, Karen, Abby and Amy. We had never been to South Dakota before. What a beautiful state! I couldn't get over the change in landscape as we headed west. Our final destination was the Palmer Gulch Campground in the Black Hills near Mount Rushmore, where we set up camp and stayed for five days.

We packed in as much as we could while still leaving time to just hang out at the campground. Here are the highlights: Wall Drug (of course!), the Badlands, Bear Country USA, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse (not sure if that was truly a highlight or not), Fort Hayes Chuckwagon supper and show, horseback riding in the Black Hills by our campground (Hannah's favorite), and Custer State Park. Another highlight for our girls was camping in a tent for the first time. They loved it! Actually, we all quite enjoyed staying in our new tent.

It was so hard to say goodbye to our friends and leave Palmer Gulch. We had such a wonderful time! We're thankful for awesome memories and plenty of photos of our trip (yes, there are quite a few below).

We love you, Al, Karen, Abby, and Amy! Can't wait for our next adventure!
