Locks of Love

For the past couple of years, Hannah has been growing her hair long so she would have enough to donate 10-12 inches to Locks of Love. The hair is used to make wigs for children and young adults who may not be able to afford one.

In February, Hannah's school held a Locks of Love event where seven children donated their hair. Two moms who are hair stylists came to school and spent the afternoon giving adorable new haircuts to seven kids and one mom. The bottom picture shows all of the hair that was donated. Wow!

I was so grateful that I could be there...especially when Miss Tammi prayed with Hannah and gave thanks to God for the gift of her hair. It was a beautiful moment for this proud Mom! Check out Hannah's new haircut below.

Chinese New Year

Xīn Nián Kuài Lè! Happy Chinese New Year! This year, the Chinese New Year began on February 14 and is the year of the Tiger. As usual, we had fun celebrating this special holiday with family and friends. We also enjoyed taking part in a big CNY celebration at a nearby church. We all had a blast and hope that it becomes an annual tradition. Thanks, Jodi, for all you did to plan and organize the celebration!

Blog Hiatus

Some of you have wondered why I haven't posted in awhile. Unfortunately, we have been without a computer since around the time of my last post. The good news is that our hard drive has been recovered and an additional hard drive is being installed so we should be up and running soon. We are so grateful to our friend James for his work on our computer. Hopefully I'll be able to catch up on our blog soon. This Sunday is a big day - Chinese New Year and Valentines Day!

Xīn Nián Kuài Lè!

Love and hugs,

39 and Counting!

I find it hard to believe that I am almost 40. After all, I can clearly remember that it was just yesterday that my parents turned 40 (ha!). Somehow time flies and here I am at 39 years of age. I am actually very ready to turn 40. I get to celebrate with a weekend in New York City with my dear friend, Stacy. I think that's the only reason I am excited about turning 40. Having said that, I am very grateful for my 39 years of life. I'm also grateful for...

a faithful, loving husband,
beautiful, active children,
cup-filling friends,
a rewarding job,
good health,
God's faithfulness,
laughter,
helpful parents,
a wonderful extended family,
a warm house,
plenty of food,
the love of Jesus,
soul sisters,
a great church family...

The list could go on and on. Your name may not be listed, but I am grateful for each one of you too!
