"Free" at Last

I can't believe my baby is 3 or "free" as she proudly loves to tell people! She has been working for months trying to hold up three fingers at a time...and she can finally do it! We enjoyed celebrating with my parents today. We'll celebrate with the rest of our families at Thanksgiving when we also celebrate Hannah's birthday. My mom found the cutest shirt for Ava that says "I am 3"...you can check it out below. Ava was most excited about the fancy butterfly binoculars and the awesome picture book they gave her.

We celebrated in the evening with just our family. Ava was so excited to open the magic panda drum from China that Hannah gave her. When we asked her what she wanted for her birthday she would always say, "cards and doggie like Ajla." Our niece Ajla turned 3 in October. At her birthday party she got a Fur Realz dog that barks, walks and does a few other things. Ava fell in love instantly with the dog and even tried to "borrow" the dog from Ajla for a bit. That was the only thing she wanted for her birthday, aside from cards. She was so delighted to get her own dog.

As always, on this day we remember Ava's birth parents who gave her the gift of life. We will be forever grateful. We are also so thankful to God for giving us the gift of our precious daughter.

We love you, sweet and silly Ava!!! Have fun being "free!"
