Tricks and Treats

Halloween was more low key than usual this year but still fun. We just stayed home and did a little trick-or-treating around our neighborhood. Hannah dressed up as a cute black cat and Ava was an adorable Minnie Mouse (the same costume Hannah wore when she was Ava's age). My brother Mark and sister-in-law Mirsada came over with Tinker Bell, oops...I mean Ajla, so she could go trick-or-treating with our girls. My parents continued with tradition and came to the door dressed up in costumes (don't let their ages fool you, they're really just big kids). Unfortunately, Ava also continued with her tradition of being scared of masks. Papa eventually had to hide his Medusa mask so Ava would stop crying. Doug's sister Diane also stopped over so she could see the girls in their costumes.

We have been so grateful for the beautiful weather in November. Having so many days of sunshine in a row has made up for the dreary weather in October. Because of the great weather we were able to get outside and do some of the activities we didn't get to in October. We also finished pumpkin activities we didn't get to before Halloween. We had some really cool pumpkins this year that disappeared off our porch...guess someone else thought they were pretty cool too. Fortunately, we rescued two so we were still able to roast yummy pumpkin seeds. Yesterday, Doug's folks came for the day. The girls loved spending time with their grandparents and we were grateful for their help with washing windows.

I love this picture of Hannah and Ava! I wish all of their moments together were like this...
