A DASH of This and That: Frick and Frack Together Again

This past weekend my dear friend Stacy flew in from New York for the weekend. Stacy and I have been friends since our first few days at Calvin. During our sophomore year we were pretty much inseparable - we were roommates and took most of our classes together (not sure we made the best biology lab partners though). Many people in our dorm didn't know which one was Stacy and which one was Sheryl because we were always together. We even earned the esteemed "Frick and Frick" dorm award for being inseparable friends. Stacy left Calvin after our sophomore to finish her schooling in New York, but we have remained best of friends. We take turns visiting each other and in recent year have enjoyed bringing our children with us; however, this weekend Stacy came alone for the first time since having her children.

We had an incredible weekend! We packed in as much as we could in just three days. We got together with some friends from the good 'ol days at Calvin - we enjoyed catching up with Troy, Brian and Mashawn. We toured Calvin and even ate a picnic lunch by our old dorm while we shared memories. The highlight of the weekend was a "Suite Slumber Party" with our friends Kristin and Sue who were our suitemates sophomore year. It was the first time the four of us had all been together in five years. We had a blast...I haven't laughed so hard in a long time! We find it hard to believe that it was nearly 19 years ago that God brought us together as suitemates. I am so grateful that he brought these dear friends into my life!

We also spent some time with Doug and the girls. It was the first time Stacy met Ava and she got such a kick out of her. Hannah went with me to New York last summer for a long weekend and was bummed her friend Jordan (Stacy's oldest daughter) wasn't able to come along this time. Maybe next summer!? :-) The weekend passed by far too quickly, but many new wonderful memories were created. Love ya, Stacy! "A lifetime's not too long to live as friends..."
