A Big Day

Today was Ava's first day of preschool, Hannah's first day of piano lessons and Hannah's Gotcha Day all rolled into one. It was a busy but fun day! Ava did amazing on her first day - no tears. Not sure I can say the same for me, although I kept them to a minimum and tried not to dwell on the fact that my baby was starting school. It really helped Ava to know her friend Addie would be in her class this year. The two of them are good buddies so Addie was a bit of a "security blanket" for Ava today. We weren't able to get the preschool teacher we had been hoping to get, but God is good and her teachers are awesome! Ava felt very at ease with them right away. She had a great first day!

After school, Hannah had her first piano lesson with Mrs. VL. Hannah could not contain her excitement. She has been counting down the days to her first piano lesson for weeks. We'll see how long her enthusiasm lasts once she realizes that piano lessons require lots of practicing. :-) We are thrilled that she is taking lessons with a dear lady from our church. Now we just need to get a piano.

Tonight we celebrated Hannah's 7th Gotcha Day by going out for Chinese at our favorite spot. Notice the cute Beijing Olympics shirt she wore for the day. It was a busy day, but we took time to celebrate God's goodness in bringing Hannah to us and our gratefulness to her birth parents for giving her the gift of life. We love you, bugaboo, and look forward to celebrating your Gotcha Day for years to come! xoxoxoxo

A beautiful end to a wonderful day
