Mulan and Her Little Sunflower

We were so thankful for the awesome weather on Halloween and for two healthy girls since both were sick last year. Hannah and Ava had loads of fun and got loads of candy, which we're helping them eat. :-) Our evening started with a Halloween party at our friends' Kristen, Steve and Abby's house. This is where Hannah lost her tooth so they were able to share in on the excitement.

Afterwards, we went back to our neighborhood to trick-or-treat. My brother Mark, his fiance Mirsada, and her daughter Ajla joined us for awhile before heading to see Mirsada's family. When Ajla came to the door dressed as an adorable ladybug, Ava shrieked excitedly and ran to give her a big hug. I think she was so excited to see a trick-or-treater she knew and not someone wearing a scary mask.

Speaking of masks, my mom came to our door wearing a Barack Obama mask that freaked out both girls. Ava was so scared and inconsolable that my mom had to take off the mask and hide it before she would calm down. For the past few years, my parents have come over dressed in costumes on Halloween. The year Hannah dressed as Snow White they showed up as Grumpy and Sleepy, and last year when she was Dorothy they came dressed as the Scarecrow and Lion. Since my dad was gone, my mom had to fly solo. If he had been here, I wonder who he would have dressed up as... perhaps Sarah Palin!?

We missed you too on Halloween! The girls look adorable! I still remember Hannah wearing that flower costume, it's too cute! I may have to borrow that one if we have a little girl :)
