This year we started a new tradition...a back to school feast complete with a theme and special table decorations. Hannah felt royally pampered as our First Grade Queen. She found the feast to be delectable...especially since it included her favorites: chicken cordon bleu, parmesan pasta, sweet corn, warm Vienna bread, and chocolate cream pie with whipped cream. Doug and I chose
Grow in Grace as our theme for the year. We will continue to focus on this throughout the school year through Bible verses, songs, and prayers. It is our prayer that during first grade Hannah will grow in her walk with Jesus and learn more deeply what it means to experience life through the grace of God.
When Hannah was a baby I used to sing her a medley of songs before bed. The last song I sang was an altered version of "Grow in Grace." This is my prayer for our precious big first grade daughter Hannah...
"Hannah Joy FuLi, may you grow in grace,
and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior.
Hannah Joy FuLi, may you grow in grace,
and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
To God be the glory, for now and ever,
for now and ever, Amen.
To God be the glory, for now and ever,
for now and ever, Amen."
