Snow Day, Let's Play!

December started with a bang! We awoke on the morning of the 4th to a beautiful blanket of white and the delightful surprise of our first snow day. It was so amazing outside...the snow was so light and fluffy. I made the girls my special snowman pancakes, and we had a picnic on the floor by our sliding glass door so we could eat by the snow.

Exactly one week later, on my mom's birthday, we enjoyed another snow day. The weather wasn't quite as beautiful that day - gusty winds, icy roads and wet snow, but we still enjoyed our day off. We braved the elements and treated my parents to lunch so we could celebrate my dear mom's birthday.

I'm hoping we'll still have some more snow days this winter. :-)
