Visiting Grandpa and a Few Surprises

My almost 99 year old grandpa recently moved into a nursing home. I still can't believe I get to type 99. He has lived such a rich, full, and God-centered life in those 99 years. There have been several times in the past few years that we didn't think he would make it to this point, but he is an amazing man full of surprises.

Speaking of surprises, we were delighted to meet up with my aunt and uncle at a recent visit with my grandpa. The girls and I went with my mom to visit with my grandpa and check out his new digs. We arrived at the same time as my aunt Jan and uncle Rog, who have recently returned home from serving for four years in Thailand. The more the merrier, right?

We enjoyed some time together outside until it got too hot, and then inside where we sang and asked Grandpa to recite the Lord's Prayer in Dutch. It was such a treat to spend some time with my dear grandpa and the surprise additions who joined us. We're glad to have you back, Uncle Rog and Aunt Jan!

Another surprise were the Del Sol headbands and hairclips from Nana and Papa - they change from white to bright colors out in the sun. So cool!
